Kilcoy Lamb shines at World’s Longest Lunch

Kilcoy Global Foods proudly marked a new milestone this year embarking on its first partnership with Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, as a supplier to one of Australia’s most iconic dining events, the World’s Longest Lunch 2026.

Set in the picturesque surrounds of King’s Domain in Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens, the World’s Longest Lunch brought together more than 1600 guests for a spectacular outdoor dining experience. Stretching across an impressive 600 metres of communal tables, the event celebrated food, culture and connection as part of the festival’s highly anticipated program.

This year’s lunch embraced a vibrant Greek theme, paying homage to bold mediterranean flavours and shared dining traditions. The main course was thoughtfully designed by Alex Xinis, chef and owner of Melbourne restaurant Tzaki, who curated a dish showcasing Kilcoy lamb, source locally from Kyneton, Victoria. Guests enjoyed a slow-roasted boneless lamb shoulder, served alongside braised chickpeas and mustard greens.

The experienced Curtis Stone Events team led the onsite culinary execution, working across three pop-up kitchens to prepare and serve the Kilcoy lamb-shoulder and two other courses to every guest.

For Kilcoy Global Foods, the partnership represented an opportunity to present Kilcoy lamb on a national culinary stage, alongside some of Australia’s most respected chefs and hospitality professionals. The World’s Longest Lunch not only celebrated great food but reinforced the importance of collaboration across the food industry.
